Hi,

Yesterday I joined the RACE! team on SourceForge to provide Gizmondo support for their RACE! NeoGeo Pocket (and Color) emulator, which was previously released for the GP2X and GP32. This is my first release of the source I've added to that.

GizRACE 0.1.0
---------------

Gizmondo port by critical of RACE!, originally written by Judge,
ported to GP2x and GP32 by Flavor and Thor, who both also enhanced it.

Full credits are in the readme.txt that sits alongside this file.

It emulates Neo Geo Pocket (NGP) and Neo Geo Pocket Color (NGPC) handhelds.

The gx.dll in this distribution is the same one provided by thereaper, which
is based on Thierry Tremblay's GAPI emulator.

The sdl libraries are courtesy of sweetlilmre.

The zlib library is from Jean-Loup Gailly and Mark Adler.

This software is licensed under the GNU Generic Public License(GPL).
Source is available on request to the contact address below, or from sourceforge
at:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/koyote-land

Contact: criticalhippo@gmail.com

Installation
------------

Put GizRACE.exe in the root of your SD card, along with the included gx.dll,
SDL.dll, SDL_image.dll, SDL_mixer.dll and zlib.dll.

Put the other files in a directory called "GizRACE" in the root of your SD card.

Usage
-----

ROMs must be in a directory called:

GizRACE

in the root of your SD Card. They must have the suffix ".ngp" or ".npc".

The filenames MAY NOT CONTAIN SPACES.

Buttons
-------

The joypad does what you'd expect. The other buttons are:

PLAY A
FFWD B
STOP Start
HOME Quit

Whilst in the file selector, the STOP key exits back to the Gizmondo system.

Up and Down on the joypad in the main menu select the ROM, PLAY starts it.

TODO
----

Scaling.
Proper menu.
Better controls.
Allow spaces in filenames.

It plays Metal Slug 1, Puzzle Bobble Pocket, and SNK vs. Capcom Millennium alirght, and the supplied Bomberman by Thor. The screen's too small to be tolerable for very long like that, though.

mad.gif Give it a google before you make yourself look stupid tongue.gif . Basicly it was an amazing GBC contender rolleyes.gif . I very nearly got one at the time, but parents got me a GBC. Gamestation is filled with them too, im probably going to get one after i get my DS lite.

Thanks Critical. The Neo Geo Pocket was lovely, one of my best handhelds. I still regret selling it

Hmm, I'm doing something wrong with this one.

I can run the prog and see the roms, but when I push play it drops back to the FF menu screen.

That's a screenshot of Metal Slug for the Neo Geo.

The Neo Geo Pocket (Color) version of Metal Slug isn't really the same.

Neo Geo emulation is quite possible however... it'll come with a decent MAME port...

Make sure the rom filename doesn't contain spaces and that you've put the dll's in the right place.

I've got all that done now, but I'm having trouble with the buttons, they just won't respond.

if you have problems getting this emulator to work ...

and if ur using my gizmondo gui copy the files "gx.dll, SDL.dll, SDL_image.dll, SDL_mixer.dll and zlib.dll"

into the SD CARD FOLDER

then go into the folders...GAMES then go into the folder EMULATORS.....and make a new folder called NEO GEO POCKET...copy the gizrace.exe into this folder...and rename it to neo geo pocket.exe and your done
