I've just thought, this could trigger the end of the homebrew community for the Giz. I'd say that around 90% of the suff released for the Giz is ppc stuff so if this means that most of the games and apps work instantly people wont have anyhting to release!

Thats not real homebrew anyway ,its just hacking something up to work.
There will still be hacking/cracking fun to be had you will see and then there is hardware hacking which i plan to start as soon as i find my torx driver that fits the Giz. Don't worry there are big things coming for the Gizmondo soon that will blow you away |

Hi Hagis,
I know the "Big Thing" coming soon, the big thing is how to convert ya regular Giz into a BIG Widescreen version by editing an ini file..... wow, that is mind blowing... Yes, I shall add my SatNavs to that list... Cheers, Lister Don't worry there are big things coming for the Gizmondo soon that will blow you away

There is a metric one that works as well but from memory the iperial is better. -josh |

Beta will not be shared out
When application comes out and there is any filesharing development will stop. Don't be so silly as to suggest such a thing when isotherm could quite easily withdraw his app even before it is released |

Without having read about this interesting stuff yet, as far as I've understood from the little I've read thus far it's possible to run anything PPC (I always had a problem with that standing for Pocket PC, I'm used to the PPC processors for the old Amiga) and Windows Mobile on whatever platform you run this Redgear. But the problem I think of by just hearing something like that is the controls?
How to make stuff to work with the correct and limited controls on the Gizmondo? Maybe I'm on thin ice, and I will read on about this Readgear. Just a thought that popped up in my mind. |

PPC = Pocket PC Well you can go the hard route to make Pocket PC apps run by adding Hacked dll files and hexediting the exe and other libs, run several other applications to give you control of the application via some hard to configure ini files and then there is the display and menus to fix with the use of some other apps . Redgear aims to make all this a thing of the past Maybe now i have given you a better idea of why Redgear will be so great kukrunk |

wow
this all seems interesting i dont think it will be the end of be all application but i recon it will certainly make life way much easyer i still recon there will be control issues like key mapping ect i think there will always be user intervention in regards to the gizmondo its just the nature of it as it lacks what others dont athough if it helps running of applications there are other applications out there that could get things operating on the gizmondo like bluetooth ect so perhaps bluetooth keyboard ect isnt such a dream away after all this redgear app just might make all that a very real option im very interested to see how this will work for us |

What do you mean? just use ecursor for mouse and gizboard for keyboard! -josh Well look at that. Didn't know that. Hagisbasheruk thanks. But I meant PPC as in IBM Power PC processors for Amiga/Apple. Thanks for the info though, always nice to learn more when you're fresh to pocket pc/gizmondo/other gadgets like this. |
